October to December: 90 days of Gratitude || Day 2.

Hello there!

Yesterday I joined the 90 days of Gratitude challenge. From October to December, we will be giving thanks for the big and little things in our lives in order to cultivate an attitude of Gratitude.

Today I’m thankful for the word of God which is alive, active, working in us and is freely given to us.

Yesterday I woke up with the need to have a good ole mind detox.

I did a self examination and I realised that some of the things I let into, created and entertained in my mind had infiltrated my soul and were affecting my spirit in ways that I didn’t like. So, I decided I’d have to do a mental detox and because I believe in the healing power of God’s word, I decided to incorporate confession of God’s word over this particular situation I’m struggling with.

For this post, I want to speak about the confessions. Basically, confessing, when used in this context means continuously speaking God’s word and promises over one’s life until it manifests itself in that person’s life. So, for my confessions, I went to my Youversion Bible app and typed what I was feeling and voilà! I got a wealth of Bible verses that spoke about my situation. I wrote them down and I have purposed to confess them over my life during this detoxing process. This birthed what I’m thankful for today.

I’m thankful that I have the gift of the word of God in my life, thankful it is alive, active and effective in our lives and I can use it in times when I need it. I’m thankful that I can readily and easily access it. I’m thankful that I have the liberty to read and proclaim His word without restrictions, fear or shame. I’m thankful that through the application of the word of God in my life, I can testify.

What are you thankful for today?

You can join the challenge too. You don’t even need to blog everyday, or blog at all. You just need to be intentional about finding something to be thankful for everyday.

May October be good to you.
